Western Illinois Chapter of Delta Upsilon Fraternity - Alumni Weekend 2011 - Please RSVP

My name is Josh Ghera and I am the President of the Western Illinois University Delta Upsilon Fraternity Alumni Chapter.
Although I have not had the opportunity to meet many of you in the short six months that I have been the President, I want each of you to know that you are an important part of this Alumni Chapter. Not only are you critical to this Alumni Chapter and Delta Upsilon Fraternity as a whole, you are also invaluable to the Undergraduate Chapter.
A mere three years ago, I was an active member of the Undergraduate Chapter and was getting ready to graduate from Western. As an Undergraduate Member of the Western Illinois Chapter of Delta Upsilon, I distinctly remember looking forward to six events throughout the school year: Rush, Initiation, Homecoming, Mardi Gras, Formal, and Alumni Weekend. Although all of these events were amazing, I looked forward to Alumni Weekend the most. Alumni Weekend meant several things to me: I was going to meet and hang out with a group of guys that shared the same passion for Delta Upsilon as I did - no matter how old or young, I was going to learn about Delta Upsilon and our Chapter, I was going hear some great stories, I was going to get great advice from Alumni who knew much more about life than I did, and I was certainly going to have a good time and memories for the future. Through the three Alumni Weekends that I participated in as an Undergraduate Member I have met lifelong friends.
Although I have graduated from Western and there are instances which I find myself missing being an Undergraduate Member, I will always look forward to Alumni Weekends. Alumni Weekends now give me a chance to reunite with the Brothers I knew from my Undergraduate career, meet the new faces that are the future of our Chapter, meet other Alumni Members, talk DU, share stories, help Undergraduate Members, and have a good time. And while I am an Alumni Member now, I am sure to leave Alumni Weekend learning something new from the Undergraduate Members.
This year, as in years past, the Undergraduate Chapter is hosting the Alumni Weekend around the time of our Chapter's founding (April 27th, 1974). This year's Alumni Weekend will be held on Friday, April 15th 2011 - Sunday, April 17th, 2011.
On behalf of both the Undergraduate Chapter and Alumni Chapter, I would like to personally invite you. If you have not been back to the Undergraduate Chapter in a while or if you are not sure about coming, I would like to challenge you to come, even if it is only for a few hours. Do not forget that this is your Fraternity and you are always welcome to stop by.

Friday April 15th
- Check-in and hangout at the Chapter House starting @ 5:00 PM
- Open reception at the house with finger foods & drinks.
Saturday April 16th
- Alumni Corporation Meeting @ 10:00 AM in the University Union Board Room
- Barbecue & Actives vs. Alumni softball game 1:00 PM (Field TBD)
- Hangout at the Chapter House
- Dinner catered by Chicks Restaurant
Sunday April 17th
- Breakfast at the Chapter House
The Chapter House is located at 620 W. Elting, Macomb, IL 61455
