Western Illinois Chapter of Delta Upsilon Alumni Chapter/Undergraduate Executive Board Meeting August 26, 2008

Brothers,

Good evening. I just wanted to update everyone on what was decided tonight.  First off we discussed the website.  Erik and I discussed what is on the web page and what needed to be there.  We discussed updating all of the timely information and removing all previous minutes and the 06 pledge class information.  There is also some information that is going to be added.  I want to thank Erik for everything he has done and is going to do with the web site.

Ceko gave a telephone update in regards to the status of the account.  There is $181.00 in the DU2000 and Beyond fund.  He reported that currently the acount is set up in the name of Delta Upsilon with PayPal and then linked to both his personal account as well as the undergraduate account.

Tracz talked with me about the mentor program.  He wants to ensure that such a program is in place and that we all have some sort of accountability to each other and some visibility with the undergraduate chapter.  Tim also filled me in on some of the situations that were going on with the undergrads currently this semester.

In my report, I discussed the 35th banquet.  A menu has been put together and will be taken to the university for contract writing next weekend.  We have appetizers, bar (expense to have the bar there), dinner, desert, a gift, and donation.

I took Tracz' idea and enacted on them.  We are going to be held to some expectations.  I want to take this Alumni Chapter from 4 alumni who give ourselves titles to 4 alumni who truly have earned the positions in which they have been elected to.  Before anyone commits to serving during the 08-09 school year, I want you to think about the expectations that I am putting forward.  The expectations that I have for the officers of the Alumni Chapter Executive Board are the following:

1.  That you have 100% respect for the members of the Alumni Chapter, the undergraduates and the fraternity as a whole.
2.  That you attend all of the meetings of the alumni chapter.
3.  That you fulfill all of the duties for your position.
4.  That you physically attend campus at least 2 times each semester.
5.  That you contact the two undergrad officers that you are mentoring at least once every other week.
6.  That you attend the 35th Anniversary celebration April 24-26.
7.  That you put all ego's aside and put the longevity of the fraternity first.

In terms of the mentoring program, here is a list of who will be mentoring who:

Undergrad President / VP of Recruitment - Shawn
VP of Member Education / VP of Loss Prevention - Tracz
VP of Correspondance / VP of Public Relations- Erik
VP of Finance / VP of Scholarship- Ceko

I am recommending that the next meeting be held in Schaumburg at Ram.  Our last two meetings have been more south and east, so this meeting we will move more towards the northwest suburbs.  I am going to say October 8th at 7:00pm at Ram in Schaumburg right by Woodfield Mall off of Golf Road.  Please ink that into your schedule.

Please don't forget to send me your intent for the coming election by the 5th of September.  I would greatly appreciate it!

Fraternally,

Shawn Wochner
